Critical assessment

Maximum time allocated, 30 minutes

Students from other studios and/or teachers are welcome to perform their repertoire for critical assessment at any level. At the conclusion of the performance, a discussion will follow and a report issued. Video conferencing or submission of pre-recorded footage is also acceptable. Critical assessment is useful before an examination or public performance.

Accompaniment

James is available to provide accompaniment for concerts, recitals, performances and exams for all instruments and voice. Rehearsal at a mutually agreed time before the event is expected.

Examinations, competitions and recitals

Students are encouraged to concrete their musical development by means of examinations, local eisteddfods and student recitals. Music examinations ensure that a student's musical development is formally recognised. Competitions and recitals focus on musical performance and of course the joy of sharing music with others.

James' uses the examination systems offered by the AMEB and St Cecilia School of Music (Examinations). Study with other examining boards is available upon request.

Studio policy

The music studio operates according to the NSW school term dates. Lessons are secured on a weeky, term-to-term basis. Please review the studio policy carefully as all conditions must be agreed to before enrolment can take place.
